Well you can bet there are some celebrations in the salon this week after Fruition were named winners at the 26th annual Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA’s) in Sydney on Sunday night. We couldn’t be prouder to announce that the Fruition Artistic Team, consisting of owner Craig Smith, and stylists Zoey Davis, Cara Mio Robinson, Emily Alterator-Gledhill and Shantelle Neate wowed the judges with what was only their second ever collection as a team, taking home the highly sought-after AHFA ARTISTIC TEAM OF THE YEAR award in front of a sell-out crowd!
You might recall Fruition also took home this illustrious award in 2016 with their inaugural collection so to make it two from two is a monumental achievement. This year, their exquisite winning photographic collection entitled Seen in Sleep certainly struck a note with the competition judges in London who included hairdressing luminaries such as catwalk favourite Eugene Souleiman, current British Hairdresser of the Year Sally Brooks and industry icon Sam McKnight.
The AHFA’s, Australia’s largest and most successful independent hairdressing awards program are the ultimate celebration of the synergy between hair, fashion, beauty and culture and acknowledge both the creative and commercial sides of the industry along with applauding the best new products to be released. The Fruition team mingled at the glamorous gathering with MC for the night, TV presenter Lauren Phillips, performers and ‘90’s legends Ultra Naté, Australian hairdressing industry great Kevin Murphy and special guest US celebrity super-stylist Jen Atkin who flew in especially from LA to receive AHFA ICON OF THE YEAR.
Finally, a very special shout out to our very own Shantelle who was named a member of the prestigious Australian FAME Team, a year-long program of career opportunities and mentorships with Australian and British hairdressing stars and includes a trip to London, Paris and Rome! Lucky girl!
Our fearless leader Craig summed up his pride with these words; “I am so proud of the Fruition Artistic Team for creating such stunning work. It’s only our second venture as a team but I think we have proved that we have got a little bit of magic going on! Can’t wait to see what next year brings! And special congratulations to Shantelle who is about to have the year of a lifetime!”
