Accessories are here to stay!

They have been creeping up on us for a while, and now that New York, London, Milan and Paris have all had their fashion moments, it’s official. Forget bags and shoes – hair accessories are IN. With more and more brands starting to bring out special additions to add to hair, the SS19 collections confirmed that the hottest accessories of the moment are bows, clips and ribbons! Here we highlight some of the runway looks that our award-winning team of Brisbane hair dressers loved the most. Whether you like your hair up or down, balayaged or bleached, long or short, there is an accessory for you.

Thick leather cords wrapped around robust braids are the new take on the hair tie. This look can work with any kind of cord and can either be colour coordinated to the hair colour or offset with something bright and colourful. It’s a nice change to ribbon and adds a point of difference.

Chanel

Well you can’t really top a pearl encrusted Chanel hairclip, but you can play with other jewellery pieces to recreate this feminine look. Vintage brooches and earrings can all work here, clipped over a ponytail or pinned into hair. The addition of the chic black ribbon adds an extra ladylike touch.

Prada

Prada accessory

Prada described their headbands as ‘lavish’ and we can see why. Reminiscent of the old school padded Alice bands that were more primary school than high fashion, these headpieces were encrusted with sequins, jewels, diamonds, ribbon and satin in opulent, regal shades. Sitting somewhere between halo and hat, they worked perfectly above the pixie-esque cropped fringes.

Emilia Wickstead

The definition of feminine, these bows are the prettiest we have seen. The classic shape works for everyone and added an extra girlish emphasis to the very soft and floral collection. We love the idea of these bows contrasting with an edgier, more casual look and having a little bit of fun with them.

Philosphy di Lorenzo Serafini

With one of the most wearable shows of the season, a few lucky models in this show were given wearable halos of woven rope to adorn their heads. With the hair look super simple beachy texture, these headbands gave the girls an old-world Grecian vibe. Expect to see copy cat versions in stores any minute now!
